Volleyball
The power of the ball
Why?
Playing volleyball and learning English are two of my favourite hobbies, so I decided to make information lists combining them. I created simple but – for me – interesting texts that are easy to understand for everyone.

The general information
Volleyball is a team sport played by two teams of six players, separated by a net. The main goal is to send the ball over the net and ground it on the opponent’s court, preventing the opponent from doing the same. Each team is allowed up to three touches before sending the ball back. There are two main forms: indoor volleyball, played on a hard court, and beach volleyball, played on sand with teams of two players. Key skills include serving, passing, setting, attacking (spiking), blocking, and defending.
Volleyball origin
Volleyball was invented in 1895 by William G. Morgan in Holyoke, Massachusetts, as a less intense alternative to basketball for older adults. Originally called “Mintonette,” it was renamed “volleyball” due to the volleying style of play. The sport quickly spread worldwide and became an Olympic event in 1964.
My way

I started playing volleyball thanks to my mom and grandma as they are playing and teaching me too. At first I trained with older students and felt uncomfortable but when I saw the first results all my fear disappeared. I played at school and on the street court too but now there are a little time to practice so I wait the moment when I pass all my exams and return to regular games. My way shows that you should go toward your goal even it is hard, you think you can’t do it or other bad feelings creep to your soul. Like what you do, and do what you like.
